VARIETY: • 86% • 7.5% Carmenere Cabernet Sauvignon (65% of Pirque Viejo – 35% of Puente Alto) • 6.5% Cabernet Franc ORIGIN: • Peumo Vineyard (Carmenere). Peumo Valley Cahapoal. • Old Pirque Vineyard (Cabernet Sauvignon) Pirque, Maipo Valley. • Puente Alto Vineyard (Cabernet Franc). Puente Alto, Maipo Valley Soil: Soil deep alluvial clay loam associated riverbed. Clay holds water that contributes to good grape ripening. Retention characteristics are perfect for controlling plant growth. CLIMATE: Mediterranean humid. Warm days and cool nights. The influence of the Cachapoal River helps reducing the night temperatures during the summer, which favors a slower pace of maturity of the grapes. HARVEST: Manual. 19 and 20 May 2010. BEWARE: 17 months in French oak barrels. WINEMAKER NOTES: • Color: Deep red with dark purple hues. • Nose: Very elegant, complex, with notes of spice, blueberry and graphite and hints of sarsaparilla and snuff. • Palate: full mouth with underlying tannins. Deep, concentrated, with a long aftertaste and distinctive nuances of the terroir of Peumo.Touches of silt, graphite and minerals. It is drunk easily, as a modern assembly Bordeaux, but with finesse and fruit of the New World ..
